I was happy to see that so many of you have cruised previously and it appears that most have cruised on Carnival.
Did you like cruising? Where did you go - Caribbean, Alaska, Mexican Riviera, Europe?
What kind of cruise experience do you like?
Would you go again and if so, where would you like to cruise?
About the time we get back from our cruise of the Panama Canal, it will be time for us to book something for this next spring. I've started the preliminary looking and I'm thinking maybe Hawaii again - we loved Hawaii, especially when it leaves from California, plenty of time at sea to enjoy the ship.

Can't remember if I have told you about my one and only cruise experience, but it was on Carnival and it was five days to Cozumel in Mexico. We loved it and want to cruise again and again. Our next goal is to Alaska. I tell you one thing we really liked that we didn't expect to like was the assigned dining partners. We were assigned to dine with two couples who were teachers! So we all had a lot to talk about! The cruise lines must know what they are doing when they assign people to dine together! How they do this would be a good post for you in the future.
The best cruises in my opinion are the 2 week 'river-boat' type cruises that take you through continents.
There's quite a few that flow from Budapest (Hungary) all the way to Amsterdam and stop at all the cities in-between.
They definitely don't have the extravagance like carnival but they offer more culture, like local foods for dinner & lots of beautiful sights along the way.
Chris, I've never been on a river boat cruise but I have some friends that have done them in Europe and love them for the exact reasons you state.
Have you ever been on one? Would you be willing to write a post about a river cruise?
Yea, I've been on a few. How long of a post are you looking for? I might try putting something together.
We went on a free cruise, on Carnival. My husband had won a sales incentive, and we went for seven days in the Caribbean. I enjoyed it well enough, with the possible exception of the folks constantly taking my picture and wanting us to buy those over-priced souvenir drinks. But hey, it was a cruise, it was free and it was fun. I think I'd try Royal Caribbean again; several folks in my family has done several of those and they all came back with good reports.
Chris, since a river cruise is something you've been on and I haven't, I'll leave the length and breath of the post up to you. I like the idea of someone posting that's actually been there and done that.
Thank you for considering this.
Off topic. Glad to see your blog is doing so well and thanks for acknowledging my support with 25 EC. Wishing you every success!
I went on a 7 day cruise round the Canaries, Madeira and Morocco. it was on the Thomson Spirit and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The package included flights to and from Teneriffe to pick up the ship. I found cruising a great introduction to new places. Fell in love with Madeira and had the best ever holiday there last ear.ob
I have never been on a cruise, but i hope some day i can sounds like fun.

Whats the weather like on a Caribbean cruise. I've never been on one. I don't like the heat myself. Do you get sea sick?
A Caribbean cruise is going to have HOT/HUMID weather, no way around it. Although I like seeing new places, I like the ship and the feeling of being on a cruise most of all.....sometimes we don't even get off the ship.
I've gotten "sea sick" only once out of 9 cruises and that was many years ago.
I have never been on a Cruise but worked on the "Oriana" for 3 months in 1975.I have nominated you for the Brilliante Weblog Premio 2008 Award! Check out my blog for details! and hope you get some link love.
My husband and I did our first cruise last year on Carnival Sensation. We cruised to the Bahamas. We absolutely loved every minute of it. The service was exceptional. I can't wait to do it again
